  • About Lachi

As a globally touring performer, charting songwriter, public speaker, and cultural activist, Lachi uses her music, storytelling, and fashion platforms to amplify identity pride. Her musical works have debuted on national Dance charts, amassing millions of streams and placements on television, radio, and film. Born legally blind, Lachi advocates for Disability Culture and accessible spaces in the music industry and is widely known for partnering with the Recording Academy to bring accessibility to the GRAMMYs.

From hosting the PBS American Masters series Renegades to appearing in national ads promoting accessibility, to walking New York Fashion Week and the Barbie Premiere pink carpet with a luxury glam cane, to belting ballads on the TEDx stage, to producing sci-fi audio dramas, Lachi incorporates disability culture into all aspects of her art, and art into all aspects of her activism. She has been featured in Essence, Good Morning America, the Los Angeles Times, and American Songwriter (among others) for her work bringing Disability Culture into the mainstream and for her brand of fashionable, upbeat, and unapologetic disability pride. Her anthemic disability pride tribute, “Lift Me Up,” with James Ian, peaked at #29 on the adult contemporary charts, gaining over 2 million streams in its first week.

A leader in disability inclusion, Lachi is the CEO and founder of Recording Artists and Music Professionals with Disabilities (RAMPD), the U.N.-recognized premiere professional platform and go-to voice concerning disability and neurodivergent representation in the music and events industries. RAMPD has had national recognition in Billboard, the New York TimesHollywood Reporter, and more for bringing opportunity and community to its members while providing inclusive tools, programming, and practices to its corporate partners. RAMPD has also partnered with the likes of Netflix, the Folk Alliance, and more, winning an IADA Anthem Award and Music Business Association Award and receiving Ford Foundation support for its work.

Lachi currently serves on the GRAMMY Board as NY Chapter Governor and DEI Ambassador and advises for the National Independent Venue Association and Audio Engineering Society DEI Committees. Named a 2023 Adage “Leading Woman” and a JP Morgan/Chase “100 Women to Know,” Lachi keynotes at and collaborates with major music firms, Fortune 500s, universities, and non-profits—including the White House, BBC, Amazon, Google, Target, FOX, NBC/Universal, PepsiCo, and more—to promote identity pride in the intersectional space.
